Hello Jan-Olof and Brian,
I believe that in the URSULA's report, the position relating to the two explosions heard at 0852-0854 is an error and should probably read 46°32' N, 05°55' W (instead of 45°32' N, 05°55' W). In the same report her position at noon was 46°31' N, 06°00' W and at 1811/13 as 46°33' N, 05°24' W. So clearly she could not have been in latitude 45°32' N as she was submerged by day and would not have travelled this distance in a about three hours. It is likely that the two explosions heard were two torpedoes by UNIQUE hitting the bottom unless an aircraft carried out a bombing attack on the submarine. Many thanks to you both for shedding new light on this attack.
Best regards,
Platon
