Hi! I'd be grateful if anybody had any information on the short lived-steam tug Toanui. She was built by Wm Chalmers and Co for service in Gisborne NZ by the Gisborne Sheep Farmers' Co op.harbour and was launched at Rutherglen in 1913. She sailed from Gourock on her maiden voyage in April 1913 and was never heard of again. She came ashore on Seven Rocks off the Cornish coast and debris that came ashore confirmed the catastrophe. She is featured on NZ Workboats [
www.tugboats.co.nz] and all we have is an artist's impression that is a little out of proportion. I'd love to know if she is mentioned in the books on shipwrecks.
