I'd like to collect any information, old photos, stories about HMS Southern Gem (K247). If any crew are still around and would like to drop me a line that's great.
My father (George Lindley) served on this ship off the coast of Africa towards the end of WW2. Just to be clear this is not the same Southern Gem which was renamed Sueroy 6 in 1936 and went on to go through the war as J05 with the Canadian navy.
