my father, IVAR MOSS KNUDSEN served onboard the m/t "LISS" from june -42 until march -43 as a motorman. As what my mother told me, the "LISS" was serving as an fueldepot for submarines.
According to official recordings, she was listed as "not in service", in other words, she was laid up, and by the "ex gratia" there was no "sailing duties" and no pay. When the "Ex Gratia" came out, I rememeber my mother was really "p....." I would be very pleased if someone who sailed together with my father, or knew him by person, to take contact. He was all his life living at Tromøy outside Arendal. My father olso served at the following ships during WW2 : Mytilus until sept. 40, Somerstad -des 41/ june 42, then Liss, Sommerville july. 43/
october. 44, Høyanger -des. 44/ feb. 45, Trondanger april. 45 / may. 45, then in june he mustered on the "Lauritz Swensson" in New York and signed off in Antewerp in november, from where he took home.
Anybody who know him, or his shipmates ??
