Most of the survivors returned to Murmansk (the Germans had burned down almost all buildings in northern Norway). A few were transferred to other Norwegian warships in Kirkenes. The survivors were quickly returned to UK; Commanding Officer Thomas Jackobsen is listed as returned to UK with British Frigate 15 December. Rest of the survivor's reports to Royal Norwegian Naval Barracks at Liverpool 23rd January.
TUNSBERG CASTLE and EGLANTINE was not part of returning convoy RA.62. They were part of operation CROFTER II (transfer of Norwegian forced to northern Norway) and followed (escorted) JW.62 together with Norwegian Minesweepers JELØY, KARMØY and TROMØY.
