Re: IDENTIFICATION OF HMS URGE
Posted by: MISSON ()
With reference to the Posts on UBoat.net and AIDMEN fora regarding the process of identification of HMS URGE , please note as follows :
The entire process of identification of HMS URGE is of my sole doing.
My Correspondent Mr Peter Hulme only confirmed that what can be seen behind the Conning Tower and which I had initially called a "Bar/Strut/Stay/Beam" must in fact be the W/T Radio Mast , folded down to Deck when not in use , as can be seen on the vintage picture of HMS URGE.
Peter Hulme did not state that the wreck was a U Class submarine , let alone it being HMS URGE.
I therefore retain the entire responsibility for stating this :
One of the targets on the sonar recording , Marsa el Hilal 2012 , is :
-a Submarine
-a Submarine , British U Class
-HMS URGE
The full dossier of Correspondence with Pictures and Notes , together with the sonar recording memory stick are with Mr John Dunkley-Williams at Bridgend , UK.
