Thanks very much Theodor - as usual your answer gives a lot of good information.
I'm afraid I can't help you much (yet) on your question about this ship's service for the Norwegian Navy. All I have read is that she was used as a patrol vessel on Iceland, after she took part in the evacuation of troops from the North of Norway on June 7-1940, and arrived Thorshavn on the 12th. This is also mentioned towards the end of my text for the ship Nova on my N-page [
www.warsailors.com] and also at the end of the text for T/T Honningsvaag [
www.warsailors.com] (previously American)
As for Albion (192 gt), one of my Norwegian books states that she was sunk by the 2 Norwegian "guard boats" Heilhorn and Honningsvaag north of Sandnessjøen, when she was on her way north with suplies for the German troops in May-1940. This took place a week after Nordnorge, another Norwegian ship seized by the Germans, had been sunk at Hemnesberget on May 12-1940 by the destroyer Zulu and cruiser Carlisle.
If I find more on Honningsvaag I'll let you know.
