Hi,

I concur with Brian that MARCELLO attacked THELMA, time and position roughly correspond. Furthermore, the sea was very rough and the range was 4000 meters and it is doubtful that in this conditions, MARCELLO would have managed to sink any vessel by gunfire. PORTUGAL may have just foundered in bad weather. There is a very slim possibility that she could have been sunk by NANI but this submarine had not answered any signals and was probably lost at this time unless her radio was not working. I have some doubts that NANI was sunk by ANEMONE as reported elsewhere.

Best regards,

Platon
