Hello Jan-Olof and Jordi,

Many thanks for your input. I think that the report that ELGO was sunk by torpedo bomber can be discounted.
CAPPONI fired in all four torpedoes singly (at 0132, 0135,0145 and 0201) and 23 rounds of 102mm.
According to T.V. Romei, the target avoided the first two torpedoes but was hit by the third with a muffled explosion and the fourth which sank the vessel. I am trying to figure out if the third torpedo did indeed hit. From Jan-Olof's account, I think the first torpedo actually refers to the third torpedo fired but it appears it actually missed under.
