Indeed, she was wrecked while trying to avoid an Argentinean warship. Her stern section is still beached there.

But here are some more questions that I came up with:

Southern Barrier (built 1929)
-Year sold from Southern Sealing & Whaling Co. and to whom. Renamed?
-Lost 1942?

Southern Maid (built 1921), later named R.L. Goulding
-Year sold to Union Whaling Co.
-Fate after sale

Southern Maid (built 1936), later named Uni 3
- Fate after sale to Union Whaling
