Hallo
I have to different information about the german ship Chemnitz. One Information comes from Roger W. Jordan. The other one from Dinklage / Witthöft.
Both say the ship was captured by the french submarine Poncelet and renamed in Saint Bernhard.
Now to the differences: Roger W. Jordan says, the ship came in Charter by the Ministry of War Transport from June 1940 to 1945.
Dinklage / Witthöft says after the armistice between France and Germany the ship came back under german control.
Both sources say, the ship was taken to Casblanca after the Capture. In June 1940, after the armistice, this was a Vichy-french area. Is this correct ?
What i want to know is: which source is the right one and what was the final fate of this ship ?
Best regards

Hei Axel.
Chemnitz arrived Casablanca 3.10.1939 with
French prize crew onboard. The prize crew was from the submarine Poncelet. And she was renamed
Saint Bernard.
After the cease - fire between the French and the German, Chemnitz was under German command.
