The name as mentioned by Rohwer is wrong. Correct name was HMS "KURD", a fishtrawler built by Cochrane & Sons, Selby and completed in November 1930. Requisitioned 5.9.39 as an auxiliary minesweeper (nr. FY.639).
Lloyd's 1945-46 mentions owner as William A. Bennett, London (Shire Trawlers Ltd.) so I presume that was the owner when she was requisitioned.
According to Lloyd's War Losses 16 of the 27 crewmembers were killed.
