Greetings, i am eager for any information on a British ship called 'Nova Scotia', she was torpedoed & sunk by a U-Boat on the 28th November 1942 just off the South African coast. There were about 900 men on board including some 750 Italian P.O.W.'s. The survivors of the sinking spent 67 hours in shark infested waters until they were picked up by a Portugueese sloop, only 192 men survived the ordeal & during the rescue the Portugueese sailors had to beat at the sharks with boathooks to give the survivors more time. This terrible account is only mentioned in a book about sharks, i would be extremely gratefull for any info about this incident as it is not mentioned in other books that i have read about WW2. Please dont confuse this with the sinking of the 'Laconia' which is very similar circumstances & in the same area of the globe. Thanx 4 any info about any of it!
