I am interested in obtaining any details of the Thorland's voyages in late 1940. The object of my research, Captain Klarius Mikkelsen, signed up with the Thorland on 4 September 1940, possibly as Captain - he had captained other Thor Dahl ships in the past. Mikkelsen's records in the Thor Dahl office are annotated 'Dead in Sandefjord 1940 on Framnes Mek. Verksted', though in fact he appears to have died the following year. Can anyone shine a bit more light on any of these matters - and, excuse my ignorance, who was in control of the Thorland at the time - Axis or Allies?
