Hello,
Can anyone help with the history of PLATANE of Crabe class (1917-18).
Was this ship ever finished?

Hello,

The Platane was ordered at the Rochefort Arsenal on 12/13/1916.
The order for his machine was placed with Holman Brothers Ld on 08/21/1917.
On 01/14/1918, the Circular DGSM / EMG / Service des Patrouilles Maritimes mentions it as being "under construction in Rochefort, will be assigned to the Patrouille Divisions of Provence and probably put into service in March".
(Do not rely on the date of forecast entry into service because to have studied the career of many of the other vessels mentioned there, the delivery delays were significant).
This is the last mention of this tug that does not appear in any subsequent Ministerial Dispatch or the Fleet Lists.
I think its construction was abandoned at the end of the war because the Navy had a very large number of ships being completed and was forced to sell a large number.

Thank you Alain. I was wondering if it was ever completed.
