tallinn convoys 1941

Post by Kurt Hoffmann » Sat Mar 07, 2020 9:39 pm

Hello all,
between 28th and 29th August 1941 the russian fleet and merchantmen left Tallinn to Kronstadt and Leningrad in 4 convoys. Evacuation from Tallinn. Had these formations a description ? Or were they knowed as 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Convoy ?
Please give me an answer for explanation or clarification.

thanks

The word I have seen used in Russian texts is конвоя (convoy). The first four of 7 groups of ships (which included all of the warships and large transports) were labeled кон-1 through кон-4. I don't remember what the other three were called but can look it up when I have access to my files.
