I agree that BF 3639 isn't quite outside St. Valery-en-Caux but it felt close enough that I had to ask.

Hello again,
does anyone know if minefield JX A, laid by HMS Welshman on Oct. 25th, 1941, was close to MQ BF 3639. The German minesweeper M 4030 Regulus was lost there on Dec. 2nd.

Hi, On October 23rd, 1941 the M 6 was mined and sunk off Lorient, more specifically in MQ BF 6179. Two days earlier the British minelayers HMS Manxman and HMS Welshman had laid minefield HG somewhere in the vicinity. I'm wondering if that minefield might be the agent which led to the loss of the M 6...
