Re: Convoy AS.7

Greetings Jordi
Arnold Hague on www.convoyweb.org.uk gives two options for AS7.
AS7 has Aquitania only.
AS7/1 states departure 28 11 1940, arrival 02 12 1940. But no further details of vessels.

Good hunting

Greetings Jordi
Strangely, Cunningham's book and The War at Sea have very little to say on Spartavento.
All donations will gratefully be received!!

Re: Submarine Visits Lerwick 1942

Greetings I am in touch with the daughter of a RN officer who was on HMS Loch Monteith for much of WW2. The family has quite a collection of diaries relating to that vessel. If you should send me a list of any relevant questions you want answers to, I will pass them on. Said daughter does not live lo...

Re: Shetland Bus

Shetland Bus From a brief look in the book “Shetland Bus” by David Howarth there is no indication of any contact with HMS Ambrose. It will take a little longer to dig further. A Major L H Mitchell was the CO based in Shetland, with a junior naval officer, David Howarth, as second-in-command. The boo...

Greetings Jordi Go to the following site. After RIN-1 you can change the Chapter Number for the following chapters. http://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/UN/India/RIN/RIN-1.html It seems that the original entry into that site is not working, there is plenty there for you to dig. You may find what you want...

This has always been a nuisance, which you have admirably dealt with over the years. Just delete them after breakfast. Us Oldies can have a good laugh, SOMETIMES !!!

Re: Requisitioned Trawlers WW2 Crew Losses

Greetings.
There was a site which had extensive coverage: www.harry-tates.org.uk.
It appears to be under maintenance. You may be able to pick -up something if and when it is resurrected.

Good hunting

Re: HMS Grasshopper 1942

Greetings Jordi Roskill gives no information on those vessels. There is a footnote to February 14: It refers to S E Morisons "The History of US Naval Operations Vol 111" which gives an account of Battle of Balikpapan. There is also mention of planes of Japanese ship RYUJO and shore based p...
