Hi all!
German torpedo boats T-4, T-14 and T-19 suffered some casualties in combat against British destroyers and MTBs 14/10/42 when German corsair Komet tried to get into the Atlantic.
Do you know how many casualties there were in each vessel?
Thank you very much
Jordi

Re: Komet sinking
hi, Jordi,
the sources I know mention 15 caualties without according these to specific boats.
Apparently, T 4, T 14 and T 19 suffered from "Friendly Fire" by KOMET's 20 mm guns (before she sank), the most prominent victim being the SO 3rd T-flotilla (Flottillenchef) KKpt Hans Wilcke, on the bridge of T 14
Thus, T 10 seems to be the only boat hit by British units.
greetings, Urs

War diary Marinegruppenkommando West: 16 KIA and 16 WIA (the latter does not correspond with the action report which is an addenum to the war diary and gives 17 WIA):
- T 14 had 1 KIA (Flottilla Commander), 8 WIA
- T 19 had 3 KIA, 3 WIA
- T 10 had 9 KIA, 3 MIA and 6 WIA
- T 4 had no casualties
This is supported by war diary Befehlshaber der Zerstörer which says that 16 KIA were buried in Dinard.
