Hello,

In KTB d. Admiral Ägäis (1.5.1944 - 15.5.1944) the following text can be found:

10.5.44
III. U-Boote
GK 91 (Geleitschutz für 1 Motorsegler) ortete 5 sm NO Kap Trypete (nördl.Suda) Feind-U-Boot. Mit 20 Wasserbomben bekämpft. Bei 6.Wabo schwache Ölspur, leichter Wasserschwall. Eine Konservendose mit englischer Aufschrift und Holzteile wurden aufgefischt. U-Jagd fortgesetzt.

U-Boots—Warnmeldung wurde ausgestrahlt. Wassertiefe am Bekämpfungsort 340 Meter, also stammen Wrackteile nicht von einem alten gesenkenen Schiff.
Versenkung mit Sicherheit anzunehmen. Ein erfolgreiches Boot!
GK 91 hat erst von wenigen Tagen südwestlich Milos ein U-Boot wahrscheinlich versenkt.

I'm wondering if the attacked submarine was HMS Ultimatum? The description of the event, on uboat.net https://uboat.net/allies/warships/ship/3544.html, seems to match pretty well.

Hi Jan-Olof,

This seems like a match to me.
T 1022, roll 2588, PG 46401, KTB Kommandant Seeverteidigung Kreta 1-15 May 1944 gives a bit more information.
Do you have this roll ?

Unfortunately no KTB of the Hafenshutzflottile Kreta is available. This may have contained the KTB of GK 91 and perhaps even a ' gefechtsbericht '.

It turns out that I have this roll (2588) in my collection. I checked it out and, at least to me, it looks like the times match as well. Thank you very much for pointing me towards that microfilm.
