Hello, does anyone knows owners for Greek steamer ANASTASIOS L. (Piraeus #1088), and later ALKIMOS, built 1919 and purchased from The Admiralty 1946 (former LUMINARY BDV) ? I will be greatful for help, Best regards, Kris.

Dear Kris the ship was bought in 1946 by Georgios Livadas and renamed ANASTASIOS L.
She was then rebuild as a mixed passenger-cargo ship.
Sold in 1950 to Alkimos Gratsos and renamed ALKIMOS.
Sold in 1953 to Rafael Melachrinos & Sons and rebuild as diesel driven cargo ship, renamed RAFAEL.
Sold 1963 to M. Petropouleas & K. Ventouris.
Sold 1969 to A. Adinis as MARINER
Scrapped 1970.

In recent days, I have been working on the patrol boats built for the French Navy during WW I. And in particular by the two series of ships ordered in the USA and Canada.
This ship is one of thirty-eight ordered on 10th june 1917 from Foundation Co. in Savannah (Georgia - USA). It has yard number 27 and was called "Sambre et Meuse". Launched the 29th july 1919 and delivered in september of the same yard.
As the French Navy then no longer needed patrol boats, she is sold in 1922 to Deep Sea Fisheries Inc. (Rockland – Maine - USA) and renammed "Kingfisher".
In 1927, she is sold to Portland Trawling Co. (Rockland – Maine – USA) with the same name.
In 1932, still belonging to the same owner , its home port became New York.
In september 1939, she is sold to the Royal Navy. She his renamed HMT "Luminary" with pennant number Z 189 and used as boom gate vessel.
After the war, the Royal Navy put her up for sale. She then sailed for a civilian shipowner. But, between 1946 and 1964, she did not appear in any of the Lloyd Edition.
In 1964's edition she is registered account Mary Petropouleas & C. G. Ventouris (Piraeus - Greece) under the name of "Raphael" former "Alkimos" former "Anastasios L" with mention equipped with a 2T engine, double effect, 6 cylinders Motoren Werke (350 x 430 mm) developing 450 BHP.

For the Lloyd, the penultimate name is 'Raphael' and not 'Rafael'.
I also have the following question: where did you find the details concerning the sales and the names of shipowners between 1946 and 1964 as well as the name of the shipowner when his name was 'Mariner'?

the information I added comes from the records of Piraeus registry office that I have transcribe during a visit there.
I hope they are of use in your project. It would be nice also to find a photo of the ship after her transformation into a motorship but so far I did not had any luck.
