Please find below a list of small Norwegian vessels noted in Lerwick Port Authorities records as having arrived in Lerwick during 1941 - these are in addition to the list that Warsailors have on this site and hopefully will be of interest to someone. If anyone can identify any of the vessels from the scant details available I would be grateful for any additional information to add to what’s known already.

Hi, thank you for the reply and link. I have seen this site before and used it to ensure I had the Shetland Bus vessels but maybe I can also check then for details of these small boats escaping from Norway to Shetland.
Many thanks
John

Hello. Your list is a mix of fishing boats arriving form Norway with refugees, fishing boats arriving from Iceland, "Shetland" bus, 'Anklet' boats, fishing vessels used in UK and even a Norwegian navy motor torpedo boat MTB.56. What information are you looking for? Can EROS be ENOS? Regards

Hi, many thanks for responding to my post and apologies for not replying sooner - I had rather given up on anyone coming back on this one! Basically I’m interested in any information you can provide on any of these vessels - the written records from the port authority are very basic so the more detail I can add the better - knowing where these small ships came from, what they are (fishing boats, launches, motor boats etc), how many people onboard, who they were - ie refugees or British soldiers etc, Shetland Bus vessels etc - all these details help to build an interesting picture of what was going on and will certainly be of help to anyone researching this period in Lerwick’s maritime history. Thank you again. John
