What is, exactly, the meaning of the term "barry commodore" in a convoy?

I found it here on Warsailors, just a few examples:

https://www.warsailors.com/convoys/sc16.html

"Commodore was in Hartington, Vice Commodore in Swinburne.
Barry Commodore in Sirikishna."

https://www.warsailors.com/convoys/hx97.html

"Commodore was in City of Bedford, Vice Commodore in Scottich Monarch
Barry Commodore in Mansepool."

https://www.warsailors.com/convoys/sc14.html

"Commodore was in Athenic, Vice Commodore in Henri Mory.
Barry Commodore in Harberton."

At some stage the original convoy was split, with part of it going to the Bristol Channel, hence another Commodore was appointed for that portion, usually one of the ship's Master.
Pilots for the Bristol Channel ports above Swansea and Port Talbot were based at Barry, and are to this day.

Good hunting
