Belgian Navy in WW2

Post by Platon Alexiades » Sat Mar 01, 2025 1:24 am

Hello,

My friend Mark C. Jones has just published in the British Journal for Military History, a fascinating article on the "Section Belge" of the Royal Nany during WW2. It covers the creation of the Section in 1940 and the subsequent activities of Belgian sailors during the war, a subject often overlooked by historians.

A PDF of the magazine can be downloaded in:

bjmh.gold.ac.uk/index.php/bjmh/article/view/1875

The article is on page 117.

Mark has always been interested in the roles of navies in exile, which operated under the Royal Navy or the US Navy commands. Last year, he also published in the Submarine Review, an article on French and Italian submarines used for training in the US Navy (1943-1945).

Thank you Platon - that is very interesting.

Mark wrote very high level quality articles on BNLOs, Greek navy as well as 9 SF in Dundee.
All worth to read!!
