On November 5, 1944 the German small cargo ship HELMUT was attacked N of Tilos by HMS KIMBERLEY on voyage from Leros to Rhodes. She went aground at Tilos and sunk. At https://cgsc.contentdm.oclc.org it is mentioned that KIMBERLEY sank "an F lighter and escorting vessel", while at www.naval-history.net she sank just "an F lighter".
Can anyone provide some more details on HELMUT?

Re: ms HELMUT
Hello Aris,
The Helmut was escorted by GD.98 which survived the encounter without any damages.
Best regards,

She was a motor-schooner according to Byron Tesapsides.
