tug AMAZON

Post by Aris » Sun Nov 22, 2020 6:36 pm

I am looking for details on the 1910-1938 story of a Danube tug later named AMAZON. What I have so far is the following:

Built 1910 at Manswerke (or Hanswerke?) in Holland as ??? (22.5 x 5 m.)
1938 Sold by Societatea de Nav. Dunarea to Othon Kallinikos and registered at Braila under Greek flag as AMAZON.
1939 sold to Etairia Odon & Odostromaton; registry transferred to Lavrion, Greece (No.3, A' class)
10.1940 Requisitioned by Greek Navy; used as minesweeper
25.4.1941 sunk by German aircraft at Salamis Naval Base
1941 salvaged by German authorities.
1945? returned to owners.
1967 scrapped in Greece.

Thank you

Nothing found yet, Aris, but maybe built at Hansweert (on the Scheldt/Schelde)

Thank you very much!
I only don't understand the two lines "->built 1879..."
They refer to the same ship?

The only shipyard I have found in Hansweert is

Werf Zeeland v/h/ Gebr. Ribbens, C. Bakker & Co

for example
1910 was built motor schooner ANGELINA as yard No.25
