finnish AURA II

Post by Kurt Hoffmann » Sun Jul 21, 2019 8:06 pm

Hello all,
i have a difficult work for you, to explain a convoy name, which sailed from Finnland to Sweden.
AURA II was a patrolboat, which was sank by the russian SChC--324. I have found a polish website
http://www.graptolite.net/ship/Aura.html, but the german translation is not so good, so i need your help to find the convoys name and the destination. This happened on 13.01.1940.

thanks for any help

This day - together with TURSAS, a former boat of the boarderguard - she escorted in the Alandsea a journey of a convoy to Sweden. The convoy consisted of the frighter SS ANNEBERG and SS HEBE and the passanger ship SS BORE I. [...] While crossing the small island of Märket [...]
