My sources (German and British) give thirty (30).
Best regards,

Re: CA Gorizia
Hi Jordi and Darius, The RAF raid on Naples of 20 November 1941 caused no casualties or damage to Regia Marina personnel and vessels. You are probably thinking of the raid on Messina on 21 November 1941 when two bombs fell on the quay next to Gorizia and caused about 200 small holes from fragments o...

Re: italian NORGE and PEUCETA
Hi Kurt, There were no specific rules. Usually the largest ship was mentioned or the leading escort vessel and this was very elastic. In the case of the convoy you mentioned, the Supermarina Diary initially refers to it cites the name of Vega (the escort vessel) to list the attack, then refers to it...

Re: italian NORGE and PEUCETA
Hi Kurt, The Italian Navy did not formally name the convoys with a few exceptions. They were usually referred by the name of the leading escort (example: Tarigo convoy) or one of the freighters and (rarely) by a code name (example: "Beta" convoy for the Duisburg convoy of November 1941 or ...

Re: German Minesweeper M 6
Hi Jan-Olof, Minefield "HG" could well have accounted for the loss of M 6. It was laid by Manxman and Welshman at 2300/21 October in a triangle between: 1. 47°40' N, 03°40' W 2. 47°20' N, 03°35' W 3. 47°32' N, 04°05' W The centre of M 6's Quadrat position is slightly outside the triangle b...

Re: Loss of ALFIERI 30/7/1943
Hello Urs,
The 30 July attack was made up by eight Beaufighters of 39 Squadron (RAF), four carrying torpedoes and four acting as anti-flak (the Italians mentioned seven aircraft). The attack on the previous day was also made by Beaufighters but apparently from another squadron.
Best regards,
Platon
