The location of the Gordias and Orion is solved now, thanks.

Wrt. Orion (3): my 3150 tons info comes from www.nautiek.nl ;
www.arendnet.com/knsm50.htm states 1722 tons. So issue solved - new question mark on tonnage!

PS. Orion was a popular name, two coasters of resp. 132 and 158 tons also had this name in 1940.

According to Von Munching's "De Nederlandse Koopvaardij in de Tweede Wereldoorlog" both vessels were in Rotterdam on May 14, 1940. For "Gordias" he adds "that she had just been taken over by K.N.S.M. from de Middellandsche Zeevaart Compagnie".

By the way I have 1.722 grt. for Orion.

Orion (3)of 3150 tons built in 1914 by A.Vuyk & Zn Cap a.d. IJssel for Koninklijke Nederlandse Stoomboot Mij had number RO 9 (transport ship destined for Operation Seelöwe).

Gordias of 1632 tons built in 1939 by A.Vuyk & Zn Cap a.d. IJssel (previously Jonge Willem of MZC, sold to Koninklijke Nederlandse Stoomboot Mij.) had number RO 25.

Most of the other RO ships were in Rotterdam on 14th May 1940. Where were the Gordias and Orion at that point in time? This is still part of my (not fully answered) question: how many ships were in Rotterdam on 14th May 1940?

Thanks for your help, regards,
