I am searching more information about Mr Haakon August Waage (born in 1906 in Bergen, Norway), my grand grandfather, working on MT Thalia (panama) from jan 1940 until he was put ashore in Natal, Brazil due to illness in sept 1941. He was in hospital until 19th of december the same year - when he died and was burried in Natal.

All his private letters have disappeared. We have a photo of his tombstone, but do not know the whereabouts - or wether it is still around. I am helping my grandmother in researcing details about his last journey and the circumstances around his death.

Shipmates, letters, photos. Anything would be helpful. Do anyone know if there are any graveyard for foreign sailors in the Natal area?
