I joined the La Estancia in may 1950 in Mebourne as sixth
engineer under captain tony Ridley. We paid off in may 1951.
I re-signed immediately as fourth engineer on the same ship, now renamed the Montcalm.I served until april 1952.
I joined La orilla in july 1952,it's first trip under Buries Markes flag.I then signed on as second engieer on MV Retainer, sailing under Montreal shipping colours. The Retainer,
orininally built as MV chungking.belonged to navy and on
conclusion of the charter returned to navy as a repair vessel.
I signed on La Sierra as second engineer in january 1954 and
signed off in 1955 in Melbourne.I would be happy to supply any
other infomation on these vessels or the company.
