Mary - May 16 1941 - ss Archangel, 2448 grt, London & North Eastern Railway, 40 tons military equipment and troops, on passage Kirkwall to Aberdeen, attacked by German aircraft, pos'n 57 55N 2 05W, crew 75, 40 lost. 400 troops, 12 lost. Beached off Black Dog, 5 miles S of Newburgh. Broken in four.
