The British ship Cathrine was torpedoed and sunk by a German
submarine 350 miles off Irish coast (approx.49*30N-16W)on June 17th, 1941, on a voyage from Peple and Freetown to Barrow, with 3700 ton manganese ore.
The wireless operator and two members of the crew was the only survivors.
