I have to announce my doubts about that convoy ship list.
When "K 1" was sunk, she escorted the freighters "Ernst Hugo Stinnes" (3295 grt) and "Else Hogo Stinnes" (3291 grt) together with "K 3" and a Minesweeper. "Wolfgang L.M. Russ" was not among them.
That attack (i.e. on "K 1" and the two Stinnes ships) was made by Beaufighters of 144 and 455 squadrons.
I had the honour to make an interview with one of the surviving officers and he gave me a very fine book self-edited by the survivors of the crew.
On "Wolfgang L.M. Russ" I have no other information.
The "Chronik des Seekriegs seems to be, regrettably, ambiguous with respect to these occurences.
