Found the following text in DEFE3/633, page 372:

4922 KC/S TOO 1150 TOI 1129/24/12/43
FROM: R 198
TO: 'M'
'W'
6TH DEFENCE FLOTILLA
11TH R FLOTILLA

MOST IMMEDIATE

AT 1130 ENEMY S/M OF CAPE CAMARAT. 2 TORPEDOES FIRED AT MFP 518
PASSED UNDERNEATH, ENGAGED WITH DEPTH CHARGES.

In Hezlet the following can be found (p. 260):

Curie (Lt. de Vaisseau PM Sonneville) sailed from Algiers on 14th December to patrol off the south coast of France. On 23rd she fired two torpedoes at a tank landing craft at a range of 4200 yards but did not score a hit. Next day another tank landing craft appeared and Curie got in to 2400 yards but this time she only fired one torpedo and missed again.

The stories doesn't match 100 percent, the germans observed two torpedoes but, according to Hezlet, the Free French submarine only fired one in her attack on the 24th.

Given the above, is it really safe to assume that the attack on MFP 518 was made by Curie on the 24th?

Best regards,
