Hello again,

Can anyone clarify the circumstances surrounding the loss of the torpedo boat Alcione on 11.12.41. Some sources claim that she was torpedoed by the british submarine Truant on this date, e.g. trentoincina.it, I found the following text which I can't really read properly :(

"Dettagli della sorte: Il 11/12/1941 mentre scortava le cisterne Ellis e Arca, all’ingresso della baia di Suda, tentò l’attacco al sommergibile Truant che era stato avvistato da un aereo, ma rimase colpita da un siluro. Rimorchiata verso costa, affondò comunque, rovesciandosi su un fianco.

Silurata e affondata il'11/12/41 presso la costa settentrionale di Creta dal sommergibile inglese Truant."

Does this text provide a correct picture as to what happened to the Alcione, and if so what does it say :)
