This time, naval-history.net is in agreement with Platon: on Jan. 17 TRIBUNE fired 6 torpedoes at a submarine at 0250/17 and two more at 0253/17, 57°50'N and 11°00'E, but there was no German submarine in the area. TRIBUNE returned to Rosyth on Jan.20 with engine trouble, and was docked from Jan. 21 to March 22, so no further attack was possible.
