My information is that the PELIKAN was launched in 1935 for and Afrikanische Frucht-Cie. A.G., Hamburg with Reed. F. Laeisz G.m.b.H. the managers.
In 1940 she was requisitioned by the Kriegsmarine as a torpedo outfitting vessel.
In May 1945, she was seized by GB
1946 renamed EMPIRE ALDE by Ministry of Transport (Kaye, Son & Co., Ltd., the managers.), London (no other owners mentioned)
1947 she was renamed PACUARE by Elders & Fyffes, Ltd., London
Broken up at Troon 1959 by West of Scotland Shipbreaking Co., Ltd., arriving there on 22.9.59
