Tübingen was not stopped by british surface units, like Alain said. She was sunk by british aircraft

I think you are talking about Gradisca. She was stopped on 28.10.1944 by the destroyer HMS Vampire (P-72) and taken to Alexandria by the destroyer HMS Kimberley (F-50). Later she moved to Algiers. On 20.01.1945 she was released but never more used as a hospital ship.
