Hello Brian,
Lloyds War Losses Volume 2 says the position was 35.31N, 25.34E
Voyage Alexandria for Piraeus. (This position would seem correct to me)Kerosene and benzene. Towed to Suda Bay, discharged cargo to tank steamer EOCENE Arrived Suez 6/5/1941 for use as a temporary storage vessel.
Her name was later changed to EMPIRE THANE. There are details of her subsequent career in Mitchell & Sawyers book. They too put the position as 2.34E, but as you rightly state that would be in somewhere in Algeria!
Sorry no info on the E-Boat or Destroyer.
regards
Roger.
