Dutch passenger ship Van Lansberge, 1,937grt had been damaged in an air attack on the 3rd February 1942. I-55 torpedoes and damages the ship the following day. Later scuttled by gunfire from the Dutch minesweeper HNMS Pieter de Bitter near Dutch Brilbank shoal.
Dutch passenger ship Van Cloon, 4,519grt. Submarine I-55 shells the the ship in the Java Sea in position 06'18S 111'36E on the 7th February 1942. She starts to sink and is beached off the South coast of the Bawean Island, Java. The American yacht USS Isabel rescues all 187 onboard.
