The sole JANA what I found was the steamer built in 1923 (former name Melita), commissioned in 1934 as aux.minelayer of the Soviet Pacific Fleet, on 1.6.39 became a transport, remained in Far East. Her displacement was 2273 t so it might be approx. 1000 BRT.
Weren’t ships named JANA lost in WW2 and no ships named JANA tooks part in Tallin evacuation on 28-29.8.41.
I think Jürg Meisters used a doubtful source in this case (or it is a simple misprint).
