I'm trying to track down a book about a battle between a Ju 88 anti-shipping unit and a British convoy that came to my notice in the late 60. Both battle and book now seem to have disappeared sideways into another dimension.

I would be very, very grateful for any hints or info. The following is all that I can recall:

"Normal size hardback book published in the UK probably after 1967 and before 1971.
A non-fiction account of a convoy battle in the Atlantic (most probably on the Gibraltar run during either 1941 or 1942). Rather than U-boat attacks the main assault on the convoy was by Ju 88s of the Luftwaffe. The Ju 88s were from of one of the Kü.Fl.Gr. (106?). The Ju 88 unit suffered heavily in these attacks, losing something like 5 aircraft destroyed and another 3 damaged whilst (I think) inflicting only minor damage on the vessels of the convoy. The individual Ju 88 losses were listed by Werk-Nummer in an Appendix. The most extraordinary part of the story was that two or three of the Ju 88 losses were caused by AA fire from just one vessel with an outstandingly gifted gunner (a trawler?)."
