the above vessels were my father,s war transport.
SCYTHIA(cunarder 19,000grt?) liverpool/glasgow-algiers...
aerially torpedoed on entering algiers & got in by means of
personnel being moved to the sound side,to try to keep torpedo
damage above waterline. can anyone clarify the date= xx/xx/42?
coal boat...from bone to southrn italy/sicilly(borgo san lorenzo
seems to ring a bell) any info. on what this might have been
LADY OF MANN(iomsp 3104grt) france-uk. i,m sure that all that could be said about this fine ship has already been said.what a
pity that she couldn,t have been saved to form the nucleus of a
maritime museum!!.......anyone for the MANXMAN,the last turbiner
still afloat??,,,,just!!!
hope i,ve not digressed too much on this, the above is a classic case of "should have listened to 'the old man'a bit more"
