Hi everyone,
I'm trying to confirm the date of transfer of three ships to the Soviet Union. Here is what I have for the chronologyies
KALININ (Калинин)
1925 Completed as KARIN (F. Schichau) 07.25
1927 KALININ (STF-CHGK)
1934 KALININ (ChGMP)
1942 Bombed and sunk Novororissk 21.04.42
1942 Raised and towed to Tuapse
194? Returned to service after the war - date approx
DNEPR (Днепр)
1914 Launched as YULA (Stott Baltic Steamers, Ltd.
1914 Completed as BRODHURST (Brodhurst SS. Co., Ltd.)
1920 MILTONSTAR (Union Cold Storage Co., Ltd.)
1927 DNEPR (STF-DGK)
1935 DNEPR (DGMP) 03.35
1972 Broken up in USSR
KRASNII OKTYABR (Красный Октябрь)
1911 Completed ZEVENBERGEN (Zuid Hollandsche Scheep. Maats.)
1912 ZEVENBERGEN (Indische Lloyd Co.)
1915 VEERHAVEN (van Uden)
1918 Confiscated by US
1924 Grounded in White Sea off Gorodtezski
1927 KRASNY OKTYABR (STF-SGK)
1932 KRASNII OKTYABR (STF-DGK)
1935 KRASNII OKYYABR (DGMP) 03.35
1959 Sank in the White Sea
I'm particularly interested in whether the ships were transferred to the Soviet in 1927. It doesn't fit the general pattern I've observed at the time.
Thanks
Marty
